My friend Megan is always traveling, and when she is not, she is planning to travel. I made her this diorama “Les Aventures Imaginaires de Megan a Paris” to inspire her in planning her next trip–this one to France. (Read about her real adventures here.)
My trip Paris with my family years ago was très magnifique. Not only was I able to see its wonderful tourist sites (the Louvre, Musee D’Orsay, Eiffel Tower, the Montmartre etc.), but we stayed in a small family-run hotel. And when I say small, I mean small. However, travel is all about the experience, and as we returned from our journeys each evening, we would sit in the lobby with the family that owned the hotel and discuss our day’s activities. They would practice their English, and we, our French, neither of which were perfectly pronounced. But somehow, we communicated. And as we described our experiences, they seemed amazed at places that surely they had visited before as if they had traveled there with us for the very first time. The day we left the hotel, I had the same feeling one does when leaving family after a reunion. I wish I could find the hotel online to share, but alas, it has either been given a new name, a new face, or a new owner. Perhaps I can find it for Megan by the time she goes, which will hopefully be very soon.
